Valentine’s Day Oreo Truffles | Easy 3-ingredient dessert
I learned how to make this scrumptious treat during the one summer I lived in NYC. I was 19 and had never lived in a city alone without any family or friends. That summer, I remember wanting to celebrate my birthday with coworkers by making something delicious to share. Since I had limited cooking experience at the time, I needed the treat to be easy. This recipe did not disappoint!
I’ve since made this recipe countless times for birthdays, parties, bridal showers, and Valentine’s Day!
You only need cream cheese, Oreos, and chocolate!
How to make oreo truffles with 3 ingredients
Start by crushing the Oreo cookies in a food processor. If you don’t have a food processor, you can place the Oreos in a zip lock bag and crush them with a rolling pin.
Continue until the Oreos are ground into fine crumbs and set aside 1 tablespoon for the topping.
Combine room temperature cream cheese with the finely crushed oreos. I chose to use my hands here so it got a little messy, but you can also use a hand mixer or stand mixer.
Shape into 1.5 in (diameter) round balls and place in freezer for 10 minutes or fridge for 30 minutes to set.
Right before taking out the Oreo and cream cheese balls from the fridge, melt chocolate chips in the microwave, microwaving in 15 second increments and stirring each time. Make sure to heat until just melted, don’t overheat!
Dip the Oreo balls in the melted chocolate and top with Oreo crumbs or drizzle with white chocolate.
Return to the fridge to set for at least 30 minutes or until ready to serve!

- 12 oz cream cheese
- 20 oz semi-sweet real chocolate chips
- 4 oz white chocolate optional
Instructions
- Start by crushing the Oreo cookies (including the filling) in a food processor. If you don't have a food processor, you can place the Oreos in a zip lock bag and crush them with a rolling pin.
- Continue until the Oreos are ground into fine crumbs and set aside 1 tablespoon for the topping.
- Combine room temperature cream cheese with the finely crushed oreos. I chose to use my hands here so it got a little messy, but you can also use a hand mixer or stand mixer.
- Shape into 1.5 in (diameter) round balls and place in freezer for 10 minutes or fridge for 30 minutes to set.
- Right before taking out the Oreo and cream cheese balls from the fridge, melt chocolate chips in the microwave, microwaving in 15 second increments and stirring each time. Make sure to heat until just melted, don't overheat!
- Dip the Oreo balls in the melted chocolate and top with Oreo crumbs or drizzle with white chocolate.
- Return to the fridge to set for at least 30 minutes or until ready to serve!
Notes
- Use real chocolate for dipping the Oreo balls — that means looking at the ingredient list for the chocolate chips should only contain cocoa butter, not vegetable oil
I think that Oreo truffles are now in my top ten favorite desserts! They look very very easy and they contain a good amount of sweetness. They also look very pretty and very appealing. The chocolate powder and the white chocolate drizzled on top both look very nice. When I tasted this for the first time, I thought that it would be very complicated, but I didn’t know that it would only be three ingredients! Nice job and thanks for the recipe!
These Oreo truffles were so so so delicious that I almost ate one every time I came into the kitchen!!! Yes, they are that good.
As an additional note, when you blend the Oreo cookies in the food processor, can you use a blender as well?
